Longest college football road trips

College football is big business, but sometimes you have to hit the road to make the big bucks — especially if you aren’t one of the game’s traditional powers.

Rivals.com figured out how many driving miles college teams would be traveling this year to play out their schedule. Not surprisingly, the list is topped, for the most part, by ambitious programs willing to take on longer trips for a chance to make a name against more well-heeled opponents.

Here are the Top 10:

1. Fresno State –18,190

2. UTEP — 15,016

3. Florida International — 14,692

4. Florida Atlantic — 14,534

5. Louisiana Tech — 13,648

6. Notre Dame — 13,348

7. Oregon State — 13,278

8. San Diego State — 13,134

9. Stanford — 12,984

10. Idaho — 12,798
