Classic TV Farewells
July 30, 2008
Parting may be such sweet sorrow, but how you go about it can make all the difference.
Most TV shows and characters simply disappear from the screen with little fanfare. Before you know it, they’ve been gone for months, if not longer. Others find a way to make that goodbye linger in the memory.
As part of its 25 year anniversary, Entertainment Weekly set out to establish the 25 New Classic TV Farewells.
Here are the first 10:
Mike Flaherty, Spin City (2000)
Adriana La Cerva, The Sopranos (2004)
Rosalind Shays, L.A. Law (1991)
Bobby Simone, NYPD Blue (1998)
Johnny Carson, The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1992)
Mike Logan, Law and Order (1995)
Gary Shepherd, thirtysomething (1991)
The Huxtables, The Cosby Show (1992)
Teri Bauer, 24 (2002)
Denny Duquette, Grey’s Anatomy (2006)
