America’s Healthiest Cities

Where you live can impact how long you live. With that in mind, the folks at AARP magazine set out to establish a list of Healthiest Hometowns, places where you have a better chance of living to a ripe old age.

Surprisingly, the list was not dominated by towns in Florida and California. A few even require you to pack a jacket for much of the year.

Here’s where AARP recommends you set down your suitcase if you want to stick around a while:

1. Ann Arbor, Mich.

2. Honolulu, Haw.

3. Madison, Wisc.

4. Santa Fe, N.M.

5. Fargo, N.D.

6. Boulder, Colo.

7. Charlottesville, Va.

8. Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn.

9. San Francisco Bay Area, Calif.

10. Naples-Marco Island, Fla.

Want to read all about these, but you’re too geezed to go find the magazine? Check out what makes these towns so health-friendly at aarpmagazine.org.
