If you’re convinced that your friendly neighborhood shopping mall has to be the largest retail space on Earth, guess again. To find the biggest of the big, you’ll likely have to take a tour through Asia.

That’s where you’ll find eight of the world’s 10 largest malls, based on gross leasable area. Forbes has published that list, based on statistics compiled by Eastern Connecticult State University using figures gathered from mall management companies.

Where, then, are the biggest and baddest places to go when you’re ready to run up some big time credit card debt?

Plan your shopping spree accordingly:

1. South China Mall (Dungguan, China) — 7.1 million square feet

2. Golden Resources Shopping Mall (Beijing, China) — 6 million s.f.

3. SM Mall of Asia (Pasay City, Philippines) — 4.2 million s.f.

4. Cevahir Istanbul (Istanbul, Turkey) — 3.8 million s.f.

5. West Edmonton Mall (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) — 3.8 million s.f.

6. SM Megamall (Mandaluyong City, Philippines) — 3.6 million s.f.

7. Berjaya Times Square (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) — 3.4 million s.f.

8. Beijing Mall, (Beijing, China) — 3 million s.f.

9. Zhengjia Plaza (Guangzhou, China) — 3 million s.f.

10. SM City North Edsa (Quezon City, Philippines) — 3 million s.f.
