9. Los Angeles
Lots of sprawl, lots of sports teams from which to choose. Start with two baseball clubs (the Dodgers and Angels), two NBA outfits (Lakers and Clippers), and two NHL franchises (Kings and Ducks). Okay, so the region has lost two NFL teams — the Rams and Raiders — but is that really such a bad thing? Football fans can console themselves by watching the University of Southern California Trojans (an annual national championship contender) or UCLA. Oh, and did we mention the Rose Bowl game? That’s pretty cool, too.
