We all wish we could have been at Woodstock, don’t we? Woodstock didn’t just leave us with Jimi Hendrix’s “Star-Spangled Banner” and visions of writhing mudpeople –– it also inspired the summer music festival. Slather on the sunscreen, pack up your camp chair, and get grooving at your favorite outdoor musical festival.

When GetListy started snooping around for best-fests lists, we hit on several: Salon, MSNBC and The Brock Press

We’ve compiled some of the highlights with the 2008 dates. Some of these festivals may have already taken place, but keep them in mind for next year.
