Top 3-Point Shooters

In the NBA, shooting the basketball has become something of a lost art. Teams run the ball or pound it inside, but the ability to drain the 3-point shot can stretch a defense to the point of breaking, creating even more opportunities for the big guys roaming the lane.

Knowing that is one thing; finding someone who can do it is quite another. Once a team identifies that reliable long-distance shooter, it can alter the way the game is played.

During the 2007-08 season, these were the 10 players who scored from “downtown” most often:

1. Jason Richardson, Charlotte: 243

2. Peja Stojakovic, New Orleans: 231

3. Rashard Lewis, Orlando: 226

4. Stephen Jackson, Golden State: 182

5. Ray Allen, Boston: 180

6. Steve Nash, Phoenix: 179

7. Raja Bell, Phoenix: 176

7. Jamal Crawford, New York: 176

9. Baron Davis, Golden State: 173

10: Danny Granger, Indiana: 171
