Biggest NCAA first-round upsets

America loves the underdog, and nowhere is that affection more true than in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. After the seedings are set and the brackets filled out, favorites peek at the first-round pairings and cringe at the thought of a difficult match-up and an early ouster at the hands of some relative unknown.

To date, no No. 1 seed has lost to a No. 16. Move down a spot or two, however, and you can find no shortage of memorable upsets.
