Bernie Madoff victims

Bill Sullivan
February 5, 2009

Where did that $50 billion go? Only Bernie Madoff knows for sure (or maybe even he doesn’t). The list of individuals and foundations the designer of the world’s biggest Ponzi scheme took to the cleaners seems to grow by the day.

New records released this week included more famous names among Madoff’s clients. Here are just a few of the familiar ripped off by Scheme Bernie:

Kevin Bacon, actor

Norman Braman (former owner, Philadelphia Eagles)

John Denver, singer/songwriter (estate)

Larry King, talk show host

Sandy Koufax, Hall of Fame pitcher

U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ)

John Malkovich, actor

Kyra Sedgwick, actress (wife of Kevin Bacon)

Steven Spielberg, film director (foundation)

Elie Wiesel, author (foundation)

Wilpon Family (owners, New York Mets)
