You don’t have to be a citizen of a U.S. state to live like one. Residing in a U.S. territory includes many of the benefits of American citizenship. The deal is so good, in fact, that Puerto Rico has repeatedly spurned invitations to become the 51st state.

Here’s the list of U.S. territories around the world. Click through to find out more about them:

American Samoa
Guam
Marianas
Puerto Rico
U.S. Virgin Islands
Midway Islands
Wake Island
Johnston Atoll
Baker, Howland, and Jarvis Islands
Kingman Reef
Navassa Island
Palmyra Atoll
