Top summer box office

The 2008 summer movie season has come and gone, and America clearly was ready to come in out of the heat and catch a cool flick or two.

Each of the Top 10 money makers grossed $130 million or more. The top three went over the $300 million mark.

So, who cleaned up the most?

Here’s the list, by way of Yahoo and BoxOfficeMojo, with figures based on the summer season ending Aug. 24.

10. Wanted — $133.7 million

  9. The Incredible Hulk — $134.4 million

  8. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian – $141.5 million

  7. Sex and the City — $152.3 million

  6. Kung Fu Panda — $212.6 million

  5. Wall-E — $216.2 million

  4. Hancock — $226.3 million

  3. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull — $315.3 million

  2. Iron Man — $317.5 million

  1. The Dark Knight — $489.4 million
