If you want to liven up your awards show, don’t forget to invite Kanye West.

Famous for pouting over his own slights — real or imagined — West took his act to another level at the Sept. 13 MTV Video Music Awards when he crashed the stage to protest Taylor Swift’s win for Best Female Video, effectively claiming that Beyonce got robbed. While Swift maintained her composure and clearly had the audience on her side, West spent the rest of the evening being booed every time his name was mentioned.

While Kanye wasn’t dominating discussion, they gave out the awards, too. Here’s a list of the winners:

PETA’s worst-dressed list

If you’re a famous fan of the fur, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has a dubious honor for you. The organization is out with its list of the “Worst Dressed” Celebrities of 2009, and Madge is not likely to cherish her most recent accolade.

Here’s PETA’s take on stars with the least regard for the health and well-being of our furry, four-legged friends. The list of offenders includes:

Madonna

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

Maggie Gyllenhaal

Kanye West

Elizabeth Hurley

Does Batman have anger issues? Christian Bale, the man in the rubber suit for The Dark Knight, has been all over the Internet for a profanity-laced diatribe against a crew member on the set of Terminator Salvation.

To say that Bale “lost his cool” would be an understatement, since the screech in question goes on…and on…and on. Clearly, this is a fellow you will want to give an extremely wide berth should you ever actually come in contact with him — whether he’s wearing the cowl or not.

Alas, Bale is just the latest is a long line of celebrities caught in the act of less than savory behavior. In honor of this latest “performance,” Time looked back on some other embarrassing moments famous folks would like to forget.

2008 Grammy nominations

In results announced during a nationally-televised concert, Lil Wayne topped the 2008 Grammy Awards nominations list with eight.

Coldplay earned seven nominations, while Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kanye West each came away with six.

Alison Krauss, John Mayer, Robert Plant, Radiohead and Jazmine Sullivan were next with five, followed by Adele, Danger Mouse, Eagles, Lupe Fiasco, George Strait, and T.I. with four each.

Winners will be announced Feb. 8, 2009.

Chris Brown dominated the show at the 2008 American Music Awards, grabbing three trophies, including male soul/R&B artist, male pop/rock artist and artist of the year.

Alicia Keys won in pop/rock and soul/R&B for As I Am. Rihanna also took home two awards, female artist in both the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories. Kanye West was another double winner, for male rap/hip-hop artist and rap/hip-hop album for Graduation.
