Who’s the smartest? Who gets the biggest bedroom when someone moves out of the house?

For the most part, sibling rivalry is about petty (yet somehow enormously important) stuff. When the debate outgrows the household, however, the stakes get higher, the tricks get dirtier, and the ego bruises can hurt a little more.

Blender examined some of the top sibling wars in rock and roll history and came up with a list of 12.

Here goes, in reverse order:

12. Incubus vs. Audiovent

While most of us do our best to age as gracefully as possible (with varying degrees of success), celebrities prefer not to age at all — or at least to appear not to be getting older.

Alas, some of those efforts to hold back the ravages of time have been more successful than others. In many cases, the outcomes have been downright scary.

iVillage put together its list of what it considered the most high profile celebrity plastic surgeries, including before and after photos and a chance for readers to vote on whether the work qualfied as an improvement or not.

Here’s what they came up with:

– Courtney Love

We’re always keeping an eye out for stylish bargains and great sales. This week we’ve found a handful of handbags, all for less than $50:

1. Kohl’s has a faux snakeskin hobo bag by Relic that’s a bit shiny, with black patent trim, on sale for $33.60 (it was $48).

2. Botkier is that very pricy, hip designer line that has a Target line of bags that look a lot more expensive than they are. The roomy gray faux python satchel even has a cell phone pocket, for $28 (it was $40, pictured left).

3. If you want a splashy colorful statement bag, look no further than Betsey Johnson’s Betseyville canvas tote, complete with pink spotted straps, a wild girly graphic and her signature metal tag. It’s $43.50 at Macys (pictured, right), originally $58.

4. Piperlime is a great site for bags and shoes, and they also have great sales. This Jessica Simpson Pacha tote was $99, and now it’s $50!

5. Another great site for accessories (and clothes, jewelry, etc.) is Amazon. They’ve got a lot more than books! We spotted a sporty RuthMichael blue Bali slouch purse for exactly $50.

For more style finds, go to Shopperati.

10. Jessica Simpson — Adding her own deft twist to the dumb blonde syndrome, Simp got MTV’s Newlyweds reality series off to a roaring start in 2003 by asking then husband Nick Lachey, “Is this chicken, what I have, or is this fish?” Chicken of the Sea brand tuna apparently can confound some of America’s best minds. Boop boop be doop.

9. Howard Cosell — “Look at that little monkey run!” he exclaimed during a 1983 Monday Night Football game between the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys. The “little monkey” was Redskins receiver Alvin Garrett, who is black. Cosell later retorted that he calls lots of people “little monkey,” but the comment dogged him for the rest of his oft-embittered life.

8. Tom Cruise — His crazed, cuckoo-for-Katie Holmes couch-jumping on a 2005 edition of Oprah led many to perceive him for the first time as three parts nut case and maybe just two parts action star. Cruise’s subsequent dustup with Matt Lauer on Today and his fervent embracing of Scientology prompted Paramount Pictures to sack him last August after his third Mission: Impossible film fell short of box office expectations. He married Holmes earlier this month after signing a new, big-money movie deal. So we’ll see how this all plays out.

7. Howard Dean — “Not only are we going to New Hampshire, we’re going to South Carolina and Oklahoma and Arizona and North Dakota and New Mexico, and we’re going to California and Texas and New York …” And so on and so forth, punctuated with a banshee-like “Byaaaah!” In other words Dean had finished a deflating third in the Jan. 19, 2004 Iowa caucuses. His nationally televised “Dean scream” killed the presidential candidacy of a man who was deemed to have the Democratic nomination all wrapped up just a month or so earlier.

6. Geraldo Rivera — His live 1986 special, The Mystery of Al Capone’s Vaults, turned up a couple of empty liquor bottles after demolition experts doggedly blasted away at the underbelly of the gangster’s old haunt, Chicago’s decaying Lexington hotel. A sheepish Rivera had promised untold booty, but no. Still, the two-hour bait-and-switcher drew record ratings for a syndicated program, leading to the host’s signing of a lucrative contract to keep ‘em coming.

Here are your worst offenders for 2008

Forget the best-dressed lists –– who cares which celebrity looks really glamorous? We await Mr. Blackwell’s annual Worst-Dressed List with gleeful anticipation. Who will make it? Who won’t?

Just who is this Mr. Blackwell anyway, and how did he worm his stylish way into our hearts? Well, he was born in Brooklyn in 1922 as Richard Seltzer and went on to become a fashion designer who adopted the moniker “Mr. Blackwell” in the 1950s. From there, he became a fashion critic, journalist, television personality, and artist. He premiered his Ten Worst Dressed Women list in 1960 and releases his annual list every January.

So in case you missed the 2008 list, here ’tis, in all its sartorial anti-glory:

10. Alison Arngrim

9. Lindsay Lohan

8. Jessica Simpson

7. Avril Lavigne

6. Eva Green

5. Kelly Clarkson

4. Fergie

3. Mary Kate Olsen

2. Amy Winehouse

1. Victoria “Posh” Beckham (pictured)

Mr. Blackwell added a note at the end of his list: “For those of you who were expecting to see Britney’s name adorn the 2007 list, I felt that it was in appropriate at this time to make comment, when her personal life is in such upheaval. I hope 2008 is a better year for her.”
