Amazon.com’s ChordStrike music blog released it list of “The 100 Greatest Romantic Albums of All Time.” You can see ChordStrike’s full list of most romantic songs , but here are the top 20:

In celebration of 50 years of charting popular music, Billboard went through all those old lists to determine which artists had racked up the most appearances on its Hot 100.

The all-time leader probably comes as no surprise, and he leads by a comfortable margin.

Who else made the cut?

Greatest singers of all time

To try to determine who are the greatest singers of all time, Rolling Stone convened a blue ribbon panel of experts. The august body included singers themselves (Bono, Bruce Springsteen and more), industry executives and media who work in the music business.

Each was asked to list 20 names. An accounting firm tabulated the results and came up with a list of 100.

Here are the Top 10:

Best cover songs

The passing of Isaac Hayes started us thinking about cover songs, the tunes made popular, or not, by someone other than the original artists.

In 1969, Hayes, known more for the theme from Shaft, made what would become a classic R&B cover of Glenn Campbell’s country ballad, “By the Time I Get to Phoenix.” Hayes’ remake came in at a little over 18 minutes. Incidentally, Hayes also wrote “Soul Man,” the Sam and Dave hit that was covered by Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as the Blues Brothers.

Unfortunately, Hayes’ cover of the Campbell hit didn’t make the DigitalDreamDoor.com top ten, but here are the tunes that did. The complete list is at Digitaldreamdoor.com, a music and movies site based in Boca Raton, Fla.

Jan. 10, 1917 — Born in in the Bronx

1949 — Becomes staff journalist at Billboard magazine, where he christened black popular music “rhythm and blues”

1951 — Joins music publishing arm of MGM Records, Big Three

1953 — Named a partner in Atlantic Records

1965 — Signs a distribution deal for Memphis-based Satellite Records — later known as Stax

1967 — Releases Aretha Franklin’s “I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You,” recorded at Muscle Shoals. Alabama

1975 — Leaves Atlantic Records

1978 — Produces Etta James’ “Deep in the Night”

1979 — Named VP of A&R for Warner Bros. Records

1979 — Produces Bob Dylan’s “Slow Train Coming” and Dire Straits’ “Communique”

1990 — Releases Linda Ronstadt’s “What’s New,” an album of standards
