Being great between the lines or under the lights doesn’t assure success in the next life. Many a sports superstar has squandered the fortunes acquired during his or her playing days trying to transition into the business world.

While losing millions of dollars may not resonate with the average person, great athletes are accustomed to dealing in big numbers. And, too often, the bigger they are, the harder the star falls.
