Presidential vacation spots
November 4, 2008
Everyone has to get away once in a while — even the President of the United States.
Of course, if you are the president, you’ll be moving quite an entourage, and not just any place can accomodate that kind of traffic. That’s part of why many of our leaders of the free world have had a special place to call their own.
Forbes Traveler took a look back at former presidents and their favorite getaway spots.
Here’s the list:
Hyannis Port, Mass. — John F. Kennedy
Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada — Franklin D. Roosevelt
Shenandoah National Park, Va. — Herbert Hoover
Key West, Fla. — Harry Truman
Read all about these, and catch a slideshow, at Forbes Traveler.
