Forget the best-dressed lists –– who cares which celebrity looks really glamorous? We await Mr. Blackwell’s annual Worst-Dressed List with gleeful anticipation. Who will make it? Who won’t?

Just who is this Mr. Blackwell anyway, and how did he worm his stylish way into our hearts? Well, he was born in Brooklyn in 1922 as Richard Seltzer and went on to become a fashion designer who adopted the moniker “Mr. Blackwell” in the 1950s. From there, he became a fashion critic, journalist, television personality, and artist. He premiered his Ten Worst Dressed Women list in 1960 and releases his annual list every January.

So in case you missed the 2008 list, here ’tis, in all its sartorial anti-glory:

10. Alison Arngrim

9. Lindsay Lohan

8. Jessica Simpson

7. Avril Lavigne

6. Eva Green

5. Kelly Clarkson

4. Fergie

3. Mary Kate Olsen

2. Amy Winehouse

Mr. Blackwell added a note at the end of his list: “For those of you who were expecting to see Britney’s name adorn the 2007 list, I felt that it was in appropriate at this time to make comment, when her personal life is in such upheaval. I hope 2008 is a better year for her.”
