Most beautiful golf courses

You don’t have to be an avid golfer to find something good about the game. Golf and scenery go hand-in-hand, and many of the world’s most famous courses are breathtaking places to simply walk around as well.

Forbes Traveler recently polled five top golf course designers to identify America’s most scenic public courses. Since the field includes some 12,500 layouts, there was plenty from which to choose.

Here’s a sampling of what they came up with:

– Pacific Dunes

– Bethpage Black

– Pinehurst No. 2

– Pebble Beach

– TPC Sawgrass

– Harbour Town

– Whistling Straits (Straits Course)

– Broadmoor (East)
