Think everyone and everything is honored by a month or a holiday? Sometimes, it seems so.

Here’s a list of obscure, offbeat, or downright weird reasons people find worthy of celebration:

January: Penguin Awareness Day, National Kazoo Day

February: National Pet Dental Health Month

March: National Pig Month, National Unbrella Month

April 12: Big Wind Day (The highest winds ever recorded — 231 mph — were documented in New Hampshire in 1934.)

May: National Bike Month

June: National Candy Month

July: National Ice Cream Day

August: Girlfriend’s Day; Twinsburg Twins Days (world’s biggest gathering of twins and triplets)

October: Squirrel Awareness Month

December: Bingo’s Birthday Month (Game was invented in 1929.)
