Top casino golf courses
April 8, 2009
Like the idea of playing 18 holes while you take a break from the poker table? Evidently, plenty of folks do, and tacking on a first-rate golf course at your friendly neighborhood gambling venue is all the rage.
While private course building has been crippled by the economic meltdown, casinos find that adding golf to the total entertainment package can be a big draw. The courses don’t have to pay for themselves; the “gamble” is that visitors will spend an extra night or two coughing up their hard-earned cash at the tables.
Forbes Traveler checked out some of the best combinations of course and casino. Here’s a sampling of what they came up with:
– Shadow Creek, Las Vegas, Nev.
– Primm Golf Club, Primm, Nev.
– Turning Stone Resort, Verona, N.Y.
– Dancing Rabbit, Philadelphia, Miss.
– Lake Las Vegas, Nev.
– Fallen Oak, Beau Rivage Casino, Saucier, Miss.
– Circling Raven, Coeur D’Alene, Idaho
– Cascata, Las Vegas, Nev.
– We-Ko-Pa Golf Club, Scottsdale, Ariz.
– Hyatt Regency Tamaya, Albuquerque, N.M.
Read all about these, see a slideshow, and find out about more prime golf and gambling spots at Forbes Traveler.
