NFL Draft Steals 2008
July 25, 2008
They analyze and criticize, they ponder and they fret, and when their time comes on the clock, NFL teams pull the trigger on draft picks and hope for the best.
Once they are done, they have about three months to wonder and worry about the wisdom of it all before training camp begins to bring concrete results. Sometimes, there are pleasant surprises. Just as often, those revelations aren’t so wonderful.
Already, teams are beginning to see who did the wisest shopping, and who might have buyer’s remorse. Right after the draft, TFYDraft.com offered up a list of the potential biggest steals in the 2008 draft. It’s a little early to know for sure, but these might be some of the young players heading into their rookie season feeling a little slighted and having quite a bit to prove.
Here’s part of the list:
Mike Jenkins, CB, Dallas, 1st round
Quentin Groves, DE, Jacksonville, 2nd round
Chad Henne, QB, Miami, 2nd round
Cliff Avril, DE, Detroit, 3rd round
Justin King, CB, St. Louis, 4th round
Jonathan Goff, MLB, New York Giants, 5th round
Marcus Howard, DE, Indianapolis, 5th round
Why might these be great picks? Find out more about them, and see the rest of the list, by visiting SI.com to read the TFYDraft.com article.
