Miami Vice (2006)
Jamie Foxx’s followup to his Oscar-winning performance as Ray was…Miami Vice? Anyone looking for a breezy remake of the Don Johnson hit of the ’80s was sorely disappointed, as this was a darker and largely humorous attempt at a cop thriller. This time, Crockett and Tubbs are out to catch a drug kingpin and his righthand man, and the action is fast and furious. Director Michael Mann knows his way around this kind of material, and while the pairing of Foxx and Colin Farrell lacks real chemistry, the film as a whole has its moments.
