Bewitched (2005)
Nora Ephron’s spin on the popular 1960s comedy about a witch (Samantha) trying to make her way in the mortal world without using too much magic doesn’t quite hang together. In attempting to comment on the entertainment industry, Ephron has Will Ferrell as Darren in an update of the old show, in which this Darren sees himself as the star. Looking for an unknown to play Samantha, he unknowingly picks a real witch (Nicole Kidman as Samantha) as his co-star, and the hi-jinks ensue. Reviews and box office were mixed. So far, no Bewitched II, which usually tells you something.
