Terminator movies

Arnold is gone, but the franchise rolls on. Terminator Salvation is the latest installment in a series that has produced just four films over a 25-year period, but still commands a devoted following.

This one comes at the familiar theme from a different perspective. While the first three films were all about preventing Judgment Day, the new effort is set in the wake of  The Big Event. Earth is in ruins, and the now-grown John Connor’s vision of leading humanity to victory over the machines has been replaced by a less glorious reality: He’s a mid-level commander who isn’t calling all the shots.

Will this “reboot” of an old favorite enjoy the same sort of success as J.J. Abrams’ new Star Trek? Time will tell.
