Best Sci-Fi of the Past 25 Years
August 10, 2008
The nice thing about list-making is that you can group things pretty much any way you want.
Best NCAA Tournament games of the past 15 years? Why not?
Top TV dramas of the 21st century? Go for it.
Best Series That Lasted Five Episodes Or Less? Hey, it’s your list, buddy.
Entertainment Weekly came up with a slightly different spin on ranking the best science fiction films and TV shows. It decided to limit the field to the last 25 years, thus eliminating the early Star Wars movies and the original Star Trek TV series.
That opens things up to a few entries that might not otherwise make the cut. To give you an idea who did, here are the last 10:
25. V: The Miniseries (1983)
24. Galaxy Quest (1999)
23. Doctor Who (1963-present)
22. Quantum Leap (1989-93)
21. Futurama (1999-2003)
20. Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003-2005)
19. Starship Troopers (1997)
18. Heroes (2006-present)
17. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
16. Total Recall (1990)
Okay, you get the idea. Check out the rest of the list by visiting EW.
