AFI Top Courtroom Dramas

If you’ve ever served on a jury, you probably know that the average court proceeding can be a pretty dull affair, with nary a Perry Mason or Denny Crane to be found. In Hollywood, however, that sort of tedium doesn’t apply, and some of the most memorable films in movie history take place inside a courtroom.

When the American Film Institute’s voting body of about 1,500 industry experts produced a list of pondered a list of the Top 10 Courtroom Dramas, one eventually rose to the top.

Who was it?

Here’s the list:

1. To Kill a Mockingbird (1963)

2. 12 Angry Men (1957)

3. Kramer vs. Kramer (1979)

4. The Verdict (1982)

5. A Few Good Men (1992)

6. Witness for the Prosecution (1958)

7. Anatomy of a Murder (1959)

8. In Cold Blood (1967)

9. A Cry in the Dark (1988)

10. Judgment at Nuremberg (1961)
