Best minor league baseball team names
May 20, 2009
Minor league baseball is a little different than the stuff you’re likely to catch at Yankee Stadium or AT&T Park.
The tone is, shall we say, a bit less formal. Promotions are off the wall, veering toward the downright silly. And, of course, the quality of play isn’t quite up to snuff.
When you’re not exactly big time, creativity can go a long way toward helping establish an identity. That’s part of why many minor league clubs have opted for “different” kinds of nicknames.
Here’s a list of our favorites. They’re not all good, but you can’t say they aren’t memorable. And that’s the idea, isn’t it?
