World’s biggest companies

Even in this challenging economic climate, bad times are a relative thing. While many of the world’s top companies are feeling the pinch, the cream of the crop likely will muddle through and emerge in an even stronger position once the climate improves.

Forbes keeps score on winners and losers and recently produced its latest Global 2000 list of the world’s biggest companies. There’s a new No. 1 this year, and four businesses from China cracked the Top 25. Shockingly, oil companies occupied four of the first 10 spots.

Here’s the Top 10:

1. General Electric

2. Royal Dutch Shell

T3. Toyota Motor

T3. ExxonMobil

5. BP

6. HSBC Holdings

7. AT&T

8. Wal-Mart Stores

9. Banco Santander

T9. Chevron
