David Cook: For his first post-Idol tour. Tickets sold out in his hometown of Kansas City in just six minutes, so the home folks still love him, at least. But Cook’s appeal may extend beyond friends and neighbors: His self-titled debut album sold 280,000 copies in its first week. It went on to become certified platinum when more than one million units were shipped in the first three months.
