Best Aquariums for Kids
August 15, 2008
You want your kids to commune with nature, but you’re not all that excited about tents and sleeping bags and wondering if that stick is really a snake.
We feel your pain. Children need exposure to the world’s creatures, but getting all sweaty and dirty isn’t quite your thing. That’s where museums and zoos can pick up the slack.
While you’re declining to answer that call of the wild, don’t forget your friendly neighborhood aquarium. All things weird looking and slimy are on display, safely on the other side of that VERY THICK glass.
Which are the best ones for you to take the offspring? Parents.com checked it out and produced its list of theĀ 10 Best Aquariums for Kids.
Here are the top 5:
– Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey, Calif.
– Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta
– John G. Shedd Aquarium, Chicago
– New England Aquarium, Boston
– The Florida Aquarium, Tampa Bay
To read all about these, and to see the rest, check out Parents.com.
