Notable deaths in 2008

The end of the year is generally a happy time here at GetListy.

Santa makes a list, and even checks it twice. (We check ours, too!) Other publications see the wisdom of our ways, putting together all kinds of lists of their own.

Unfortunately, one of the more sobering lists at the end of any year is a compilation of the rich, famous, or just plain significant folks who have passed away over the previous 12 months.

The New York TImes has put together its list of notable deaths. Some you became aware of at the time, others you may have missed, and a few may have slipped your mind.
