British Open Courses
July 17, 2008
While the U.S. Open traditionally has been a movable feast, the British Open gets around, too.
Through 2009, 14 different golf courses have hosted The Open Championship since 1860. Seven of those are in Scotland, six in England, and one in Northern Ireland. Each is a links course, as mandated by the Championship Committee.
This year’s venue, Turnberry, hosts The Open for a fourth time after opening its doors to the event most recently in 1994.
