Most overpriced cars

Detroit may be suffering and prices may be down, but that doesn’t mean you are sure to get a bargain when you go new car shopping.

That “great deal” you can’t turn down may still leave you with buyer’s remorse, particularly if the vehicle in question doesn’t retain its value or simply isn’t worth what you paid for it.

Forbes has put together a list of “America’s Most Overpriced Cars.” Using date from Vincentric, a company that tracks automobile costs for the industry, Forbes weighed several factors, starting with any gap between the vehicle’s Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) and actual open market value. The research produced a list of 15 cars and trucks that don’t measure up. Here are Nos. 6-15, in reverse order:

15. Pontiac G6 Coupe

14. Chevrolet Colorado

13. Ford Ranger Supercab

12. Pontiac G6 Sedan

11. Ford Ranger 2WD

10. GMC Canyon

9. Jeep Wrangler

8. GMC Envoy

7. Chevrolet Trailblazer

6. Dodge Caliber
