That nice, shiny new car you just parked in the driveway can be a target. Thieves like nice, shiny new cars, too.

Some vehicles, it seems, are simply made to be stolen. Forbes did a little research on the subject and came up with its list of “America’s Most-Stolen Cars.”

If you haven’t purchased a car in a while, a trip to the showroom can be a real eye-opener.

Even in a struggling industry, sticker prices remain high. Figure in your tax, title and license, and you can add another 10 percent or so.

And you are just getting started.

How much does it cost to keep that car on the road for five years? Forbes set out to identify the most expensive cars to drive, and purchase price was only part of the equation. Fuel costs, deprecation, taxes, maintenance and repairs and insurance figured into the mix as well.

Which are the worst bargains out there? Here’s the list:

– Volkwagen R32 (Hatchback)

– Volkwagen Passat (Family Sedan)

– Subaru Impreza (Small Car)

– Dodge Charger (Large Sedan)

– Audi RS4 (Upscale Sedan)

– Lexus LS600 (Hybrid)

– Mercedes-Benz G55 (SUV)

– Mercedes-Benz SL600 (Convertible)

– Mercedes-Benz SL65 (Sports Car)

– Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG (Luxury Sedan)
